Home Renovation Project And My Life

The day is finally here!  After months of planning our contractor started working on our home renovation project today!  I cannot tell you how elated I am to hear the sledgehammer plowing through plaster and the saw cutting through wood.  Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the amount of thought and effort that would go into redoing a kitchen, living room, and dining room.

You see at first we were only going to redo the cabinets, counter tops, and flooring.  Then it turned into all new appliances, tearing out two walls, extending the kitchen onto our covered porch, moving the entrance to our porch over five feet to allow for the kitchen to be expanded, and so on and so forth.  Now don’t get me wrong I can’t wait for it to be done.  It if looks anywhere close to the mock ups our designer came up with it will be amazing!

Here is day one of demo day photos!

This whole process reminds me that all good things in life take hard work and patience to acquire:
1.    Jobs
2.    Strong families
3.    Strong / consistent Christian faith
4.    Obedient children
5.    Organizations
6.    Communities

If home renovation projects were free and easy to do everyone would do them but since they are not few go down that path.  The same can be said of your job or job search or your family, your Christian faith, your children etc…  All areas of our lives that matter requires work and determination and Lord knows patience if we want them to be successful.  Nothing good in life comes by laziness, gluttony, and idle hands.  All good things come by hard work, determination, and patience.

So stay tuned for more photos of our project.  They tell us it should be done no later than Thanksgiving. In a week or so I am sure I won’t be so excited about the sounds of sledgehammers and saws.
